Gee do i feel useless, not only have i ignored this site, but i’ve also stopped writing. My last post was supposed to encourage myself to juggle reviewing and school work. But i failed doing both; obviously i havent been posting up reviews and well lets just say i havent been doing homework either ;) I’ve read loads of books in the past couple months, just been a lazy version of myself theses days. i can honestly say that before i just lacked the motivation because of the school thing. But that is officially over, i have set some time, over the weekend to do some editing. Yes, so those of you who just happen to stumble upon this blog, then stay tunned, i got some new things in mind.

Twisted Sisters, Stephanie Hale June 18, 2008

“Twisted Sisters” by Stephanie Hale.

Now that Aspen is done with her Senior year, off to College she goes. To state of course, courtesy of Detective Harry, since theres no way her parents can pay for it because of her mothers addiction to shopping last year. Rand will be with her too, not wanting to separate from Aspen, even if it means turning down a Ivy leage school. Aspen is more than happy about that little fact.

Joining a sorority was a must, so Aspen rushes Zeta. Rushing Zeta is more than a social event for Aspen, she plans to get in and investigate the house to find out what happened to Harry’s neice Mitzi who disapeared. Things are harder to figure out this time, Rands roomate who is obsessed with her, and mean for no reason sisters arent making things any easier. Betrayals, surprises, secrets are waiting for Aspen, ready to swallow her whole.

Increasethepeace Review-

I personally think this book is just as phenomenal as the first  “Revenge of the Homecoming Queen”. Yess this too, I devoured in one sitting=]. I am becoming a fan of Aspen, a more modern fashion coordinated Nancy Drew. Rand of course is perfect with Aspen, I think he keeps her grounded. Though his character did act jerky at times, but he proudly redeemed himself with all the suport and loveydovey comments he gives Aspen hahaa. So much events, and surprises in this book, iloved it. It didnt bore me in any parts, just made me want to keep reading. hahaa iwas sad to find myself done with the book so fast. “Twisted Sisters” by Stephanie Hales has a really good plot, and just like “ROTHQ” its a must must must buyy.

“Revenge of the HomeComing Queen” by Stephanie Hale

Book info-Aspen Broooks has it all, good looks, a perfect quaterback boyfriend, and is considered an A-list at her highschool. The homecoming dance is just around the corner, and Apsen has been preping herself for the crown of Queen. Things dont go the way Aspen expects, Angel Ives being crowned instead of her and dorky Rand Bachrach has been recognized as the homecoming king. Strange things start to happen to Aspen, things that she believes Angel Ives is responsible for, since Angel pratically blames her for dorky Rand being crowned king.  –>little does Aspen knows, things arent that easily figured out, and she unfortunately has more trouble coming her way.

Increasethepeace Review-

I enjoyed reading this book, umm it was a unique pleasurable read for me. What I liked about it was that it had cute romances but also included some good suspense events that kept you guessing. This book was hard for me to put down, I finished it in one sitting. It had me participating, what I mean is that this book had a mystery in it and while reading I found myself putting facts/clues together to figure out the mystery. When Aspen figures out something, I also i find myself going “ohhh” or “hmmm”. Some of Rands comments to Aspen had me getting all mushy and a lot of awww’s. “Revenge of the Homecoming Queen” is an absolute keeper, its a must read, as well as a must buy. (out in bookstores)

 >_<looking forward to more Aspen, and more books from this author, Stephanie Hale.

“Lock and Key” by Sarah Dessen

Ruby wants nothing but to be free, escape all the stress and the drama that her mom seems to have most of the time. To leave like her sister did ,and start things on her own, to not be dependant on others. Things dont go to plan when her mom takes off. Now Ruby suddenly has to leave all that is fimiliar to her. Move into a strange house, where she finds herself having a reuion with her older sister, who seems to have a husband and a beautiful house. Ruby must learn to cope with her new situation, but she convinces herself that everything is temp. and when she turns 18, she’ll be able to go on her own and not be such a burden to her sister. Though thats a hard thing to do with all these new people trying to convince her otherwise, including the charming next door neighbor boy, Nate. Ruby finds comfort with him, stubbornly she allows herself to be close, later finding out he has problems of his own to deal with.

Sarah Dessen creates yet another book that lets us see the drama, emotion of a young girl. “Lock and key” yes the title itself can lure a person, but in the end the story will satisfy its reader.

Personal Opinion- ahh this book is jut as good as her other novels. yess Sarah Dessen is an inspirational writer. She captures the emotions of this troubled teen in the book so well, i feel like i can connect. Though i have not experienced the events Ruby did, yet i know how it feels to not want to be vunerable and at mercy of others. I cried reading this book, it has that big of an effect. I admire Sarah Dessen for being able to do that, creating a book that teens can relate to,- laugh, smile, and cry to. I would recommend this book most def.

“Better Than Yesterday” by Robyn Schneider

Blake Dorsey is back from a two year disappearance. Skyler banks is still recovering from her scandal with her friend Blakes older brother Kyle. And Charley Morton has lost valedictorian position to Skyler, who he sees as his dream girl. All three are reunited, Skyler is even still rooming with her old roommate Marissa from freshman year. When Blake discovers the scandal that happened with Skyler and his brother Kyle, who is now in college, he takes off. When Skyler reads the email Blake sent to his brother, she finds out Blake had liked her and other reasons why he decides to bail. Her, Charley, and Marissa decide that its their job to bring him back. They risk their education at Hilliard, to go on a search to find Blake, even though they dont even know where in the world he could be.

Personal Review: I enjoyed reading this book, I like how Skyler is like a regular laid back kind of girl but she’s also super smart. Too bad she got a bad reputation with Kyle Dorsey, though I guess thats one of the many reasons why this book is good, the fact that it has a good scandal in it. It didnt take me too long to read this book, it got really interesting during the first and second chapter and it just continued from then on. “Better than yesterday” has a good story plot, I think anyone would enjoy reading it cause its just simply a great book.

Vanessa came back through the portal on her own, where she landed on the beach and found troube not too far away. Jimena and her a reunited when Jimena saves Vanessa from Followers. Vanessa has to save serena, and also has to make a decision about her powers because her 17th birthday is comming soon. Surprises and struggles are just around the corner for Vanessa. Thrilling, and captivating conclusion to the daughter of the moon series, it will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Personal Review: I loved the Daughter of the Moon series, and I’m really sad that the series is ending. I hope Lynne Ewing changes her mind and continues making books about the Daughter of the Moon, it’d be fun reading about future generations. Anyways, so this book “The Final Eclipse” very satisfying, this too I devoured in one sitting. I once wrote a letter to the author and she mailed me back, you can only imagine how excited and happy I was. hahaa. (spoiler)–>I’m extremely happy that Serena and Stanton got to be together at the end, I really cried when he was begging for her to stay wih him. Vanessa is one of my favorites out of all the daughters, espeacially when she can turn invisible. hahaa great gift. And Serena also a fav character, so is her beloved Stanton. Its fun reading about their love, cause it like a forbidden love but they cant help it.>_< idont know any other way to express how ecstatic I was reading this book, except saying that I ABSOLUTELY loved it. lessthanthree it. <3 it.ha.
